The purpose of this course is to provide students with the opportunity to gain knowledge and skills to enable the individual to be competent in a range of activities and functions in a defined context within a hospitality setting.   Skills learned can be transferred across a range of industries. There are two steams within the Hospitality Course:

i) Hospitality Multi skilling: This course provides students with skills and knowledge to enable them to work across all areas of the Hospitality Industry.  While not specialising in one particular area, participants will gain broad industry knowledge and the ability to multi-skill, sharing job roles across multiple areas of hospitality.

ii) Hospitality Operations: This course provides students with the practical skills and knowledge needed to work as a qualified commercial cook in a commercial kitchen. The courses offer a well-balanced program with a strong emphasis on practical ‘hands on' training which is complemented by relevant theoretical hospitality subjects. The course ensures all students have the skills required for entry into this exciting industry.

Personal protective equipment is a compulsory for this course and must be supplied by the student.

There is a compulsory structured 35 hour work placement integrated into this course work for each year of study.
