* Established in 1993, the College caters for post-compulsory aged students, including re-entry and continuing students from a wide range of backgrounds. The College is recognised for its variety of programs that allow students to complete their secondary education in a highly supportive and mature environment.
Five Islands Secondary College was established in 1993 on the site of the former Port Kembla High School. It is one of only four department of education and communities senior colleges operating in NSW.
The college provides an adult-oriented learning environment in which students are encouraged to take greater responsibility for their own learning. College organisation supports this different approach to suit mature-age, re-entry and continuing students through full-time and part-time pathways.
The college offers a high quality education to all students across a wide range of academic and vocational programs, including special interest subjects.
The college is designated by the department of education and communities as a centre of excellence in integrating education and training in recognition of its outstanding achievements in education.
